The Awesomeness of Traveling in Ireland

Ireland is really the most awesome place to travel. We were talking and agreed that this has been perhaps the best vacation we've taken. Comparing it to other places, like Japan, is really sort of silly, because they're so different. But still, Ireland wins.

  • The people have generally been pleasant, helpful, and friendly, even when they'd have good excuse not to be grumpy (like running a gas station by the highway).
  • People make eye contact. You have interactions with strangers that truly feel like interactions.
  • The countrysides are incredible. The photos I've taken look Photoshopped, but they're not. Those greens are real.
  • The narrow roads. Okay, there are major downsides to that (like potential death), however you get a real intimacy with the surroundings. You're not on endless, mass produced highway, but in places where people live.
  • Everything is tidy and well ordered, yet informal and unpretentious.
  • Applying proper discernment, the food is good.

Not mentioning how great it is here has been an oversight on my part. Many apologies.
